The whole Talla window in zen mode: a terracotta centaur on a dark viewport, with only a small axis gizmo and a “persp · shaded · detail 0” tag in the corners. The same window with the chrome showing: the centaur in the viewport, and brush, radius, strength, symmetry, detail level, and layer controls in a panel on the right.

what it does

  • Five brushes Draw, Smooth, Grab, Clay, and Inflate. Build volume, pull a silhouette, soften the surface.
  • Sculpt layers Keep changes separate. Name, hide, and lock layers, or turn their opacity down.
  • Detail levels Add subdivision for finer work, step down to adjust the broad form, come back.
  • Symmetry Mirror strokes across X, Y, or Z.
  • Your own meshes Import an OBJ and check its orientation and face direction before you commit.
  • Studio, MatCap, wireframe Switch shading to read the surface, or inspect the mesh.
  • Zen mode Press Tab and everything but the mesh goes away.

the workspace

One viewport, one panel. There is no second window, no tabs, and nothing folded away in menus. What you see above is the whole app.

The control panel, close up: five brush buttons, radius and strength sliders, X Y Z symmetry toggles, a detail level stepper reading 0 of 5, and a layer list with one layer named Primary Form at 100 percent opacity.

The panel reads top to bottom: brush, radius and strength, symmetry, detail level, layers. Pick a brush, set two sliders, sculpt.

Symmetry is three toggles. Detail level is a stepper. Layers are a list with an eye, a lock, and an opacity slider. Nothing needs a manual.

There is a light appearance too.

Six small round buttons at the top right of the viewport: Sculpt, Orbit, and Pan grouped together, then navigation settings, Frame All, and Appearance. Two pill groups at the bottom right of the viewport: Front, Top, Persp, with Persp selected, and Shaded, Wire, with Shaded selected. The bottom left of the viewport: a small X Y Z axis gizmo and a tag reading persp, shaded, detail 0.

The viewport keeps its few controls in the corners. Top right: Sculpt, Orbit, Pan, then navigation settings, Frame All, and appearance. Bottom right: the view and the shading. Bottom left: an axis gizmo and a tag that says where you are.

Nothing sits on the mesh. When you want none of it, press Tab.
